actually - adult PREGNANT female as we later discovered :) she left behind two live hatchlings who now also inhabit our back yard :)

Indeed! It's tough for chameleons in Cyprus. Most of them get run over on the roads during the mating season when they search for a mate or a place to lay the eggs :(
I hope its offspring will grow up with safety :) Thanks for sharing
