I just want to know what they are and if there is any natural way to protect against them or to get rid of them

Yeah, not so good, they have been planted for a few years and this is the first year they have been seen
Not such good news :(
They aren't lady bugs, they have no shell at all, I seem to have found information on Colorado Potato Beetle, looks like that may be what it is....
They look like ladybugs (no close up shot so difficult to tell). If they are you should be happy as they will keep your veggies free of aphids!
