The lack of zoom with the Tamron lens is a plus and a minus... It means having to get really close to small subjects, but being close makes it easier to work without a tripod. And it does really well with extension tubes.
Thanks for sharing! I also have a Canon Rebel :) I'm shopping around for a macro lens. I sometimes use extensions on my zoom lens which can help get me up close, but it's tricky to get a clear shot without a tripod.
Hi Courtney. :) I have a Canon Rebel body with a Tamron 60 mm f/2.0 macro lens. I like the combination because it's lightweight and fairly versatile. But when I can't bring it along I keep a Canon Powershot in my purse.
That's a damn great shot! WOW! Looks like the size of a big dog
Love it! What a capture!
fantastic pic congrats
Thank you very much for the nice comments. What a nice thing to wake up to this morning. :)
I could use some of these doodle-bugs right about now. The ants in my casita are driving me nuts!

Not much of a surprise that you got SOTD! All your shots are amazing, congrats to yet another fine contribution to the site. :) Such an interesting creature too on top of that!
Another superb shot textless!
Thanks Alison and Ashish! I was really excited about that antlion so I'm happy to see him up there. :)

Thanks! I felt really lucky to find one that would stay still for a minute.
