Darwinist :) thanks alot. Your clarification as well as the link is a great straight forward identification tool. Even i felt the same. i just typed swift for swallow. my bad. lol. but Atul thanks for the effort. the difference of head patch really missed us or we missed them.. .
i think you may have been right that it is the red-rumped swift.The streak-throated has the chestnut color covering the entire top of the head, while the red-rumped is black on top with chestnut only around the eyes (which seems to coincide with your photo.
