Description:

Brown Honeyeater!

Notes:

These little guys are very tricky to capture! They are agile and fly around almost like a humming bird in that they dart in all directions. Following them with your lens is a challenge but well worth the effort. So delightful!

One last 'share', as I too love the nectar eaters in particular, here's two of my locals: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/2650007 http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/2670003
My connection to England is my Mum - who was born there. I am just a perm resident... only here 2 years now but do love it. Thanks 'heaps'! Your photos are amazing too... I am 'watching you'! Cheerio, LALA
Good, I could use a non-nut-job sibling, Laurie. The only connection I have to England is that my partner was born there, and moved to Australia as an infant with her parents. She's the one that sucked me into the antipodean vortex, which is how I ended up where I am today. I'm originally American (and now an Australian). Again, welcome to NOAH. I really love your photos and am looking forward to seeing more of them. Cheers, Lori
Love the photos, that first shot is excellent. :) Great spotting, and welcome to Noah. :)
Let me see.... we have the same name - different spelling, born in the 60's, dyslexic, loves wildlife and photography, has a connection to England and Australia... you could be my long lost twin!
Yep, born in the 60's. And I like modern spellings (especially being dyslexic, besides all archaic spellings will fall away once the Asian version of English takes over - I might as well be ahead of the curve). Antipode (opposite + foot) is any place that is diametrically opposite where one is on the planet. The English applied the term to Australia and New Zealand. I think you are right about Tasmania being the Toronto/Queensland love-child. Let me know if/when you are coming my way.
THANK YOU Lori! Cheeky! Very funny! Actually, it is you who spells it wrong! Well, not wrong but a modern variation of the older version. I think I just buried myself now into the 'old'! However, you could very well also be a child of the 60's according to name popularity! So I am just learning what an Antipode is... (Tassy-England?) I would love to hear your explanation! FYI - I can't wait to visit your state! I am convinced it is the perfect happy medium between Queensland and Toronto! It's just a hunch! LOL!
Welcome, Laurie. I'm the antipodean amongst the Rangers. Flag any questions you have to me, and I'll do my best to answer them. Cool name btw, even if you spell it wrong ;). Cheers Lori from Tasmania
Thank you everyone! What a great site this is... I just joined the other day...
Great spotting.. Nice grab.. cute bird..!!
