Field Notes

Description:

Scarabaeidae; Melolonthinae; Leucopholis irrorata Chevrolat, 1841. This beetle is generally considered a pest on plantations of Maize, but in our area it appears to be associated with Mango Trees.

Habitat:

Spotted crawling around in our backyard during our preparations for the approaching typhoon season. It probably came down on one of the branches trimmed from an old mango tree.
