Spotted Jewelweed
Impatiens capensis
45.2594, -61.27
Field Notes
Description:
When the plant is wet, round beads of water form at the edges of the leaves, which have a water-repellant top surface. Both the flowers and these tiny water globes are the plant's "jewels".
Today, the seed pods were mature enough to perform their famous popping effect.
