Description:

A Black Ant-Mimicking Jumping spider. Size: about 4-5mm. Short jaw. Glossy black abdomen. Feeding on a mayfly probably.

Habitat:

Botanical area at Jahangirnagar University. Tropical area.

Notes:

An absolutely fantastic mimic. Really hard to spot.

Oops, sorry, didn't notice the location is actually north of India.
Actually my collection is from Bangladesh. Exactly, at first I also thought it was feeding on a mosquito or mayfly nymph.. But it was hard to be exact..
Fantastic collections of spiders you've got there in India. The prey it is feeding on is an insect from the Diptera insect order. Probably a midge from the Culicomorpha infraorder.
