Description:

Also called "fairy-slipper", I think the Calypso orchid is our most exotic-looking native wildflower here in Northern California. They grow in deep redwood forest/riparian habitats and have a very short (but prolific) flowering season.

Our best friends have these growing all around their house. Beautiful!
