Field Notes

Description:

A small bird with a distinctive black mask and yellow breast. The female is much plainer in color but is beautiful, nonetheless. The male Yellowthroat has a call that is unmistakable and the bird is usually heard before the bird is seen. It measures only 5 inches long.

Habitat:

I usually see the bird in marshes and grasslands but it can also be found in other habitats.
