I agree with Arleen; Golden Trumpets are known to grow here in Arizona and here's what they look like: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7232574 Notice the depressed cap, darker stem, and different growth pattern (in your spotting they are grouped whereas Golden Trumpets are usually seperate). What do you think?

Grows/common on hardwoods, especially Beech. The cap of Xeromphalina is typically yellowish orange to orange-brown, the stalk becomes reddish brown and grows on well decayed conifer wood. Also, Xeromphalina has a very depressed cap center.
