Field Notes

Description:

Saw a bunch of these frogs in a National Park in Washington, DC in May of 2011. I think they are bullfrogs, but am not sure. Unless they moved they were extremely hard to see.

Habitat:

Marshy-pond in National Park in Washington, DC

Species ID Suggestions

That was my guess as well, but didn't take the time to compare to other species so didn't want to suggest it.
I think I might be getting warmer with: Northern Green Frog Lithobates clamitans melanota - at least the pictures of these on the VA herp page also have the dorsolateral folds and the disc behind the eye...Thanks for suggesting their website, too.
The frogs in your photos have dorsolateral folds (the long ridges along the back of the animal), which will make them something other than bullfrogs. Check this website out for more information: http://www.virginiaherpetologicalsociety.com/amphibians/frogsandtoads/frogs_and_toads_of_virginia.htm
