Field Notes

Description:

The busy, little bushtits are constantly on the move, flying from tree to bush -- chattering to each other without seeming to stop to take a breath --in their relentless pursuit of juicy little aphids to eat... They hit the jackpot on my neighbor's blackberry vines!

Habitat:

Dry hills, chaparral and oak woodlands.

Notes:

I have other photos but none as close and clear as these... Due to their ceaselessly rapid movements and diminutive size, I'd say the bushtits are one of the most difficult birds to capture on film!

Yes...its wings look not fully developed and hairs are so soft on head...typical juvenile.
They really ARE, Emma! And so GOOD to have around the garden! It sort of does, Ashish -- except you can tell the one on the left is younger than the one on the right! :^D
Its like a Mirror image reflection type picture...
