Field Notes

Description:

This white fungus was very appealing to some ants and this spider. The fungus looked slimey-wet and snow-white. In fact, several of the plant stems covering this tree trunk appeared to be covered in this slimey-wet-mucus. Growing along with moss on this downed tree trunk.

Habitat:

Mixed pine, hard-wood forest in State Park in suburban Philadelphia, PA USA

This is one I found in my house sometime ago: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6422540
Not VERY common like wall spiders, but you can cross with them even in gardens in big cities in Brazil.
I was afraid my "daddy long legs" might not be a daddy long legs, but I've never heard of an opilion before! Are they rare?
Nice picture. The insect seems to me an opilion, not a spider.
