Field Notes

Description:

I was trying to get a shot of the White-tailed Kite as he took off and a Turkey Vulture suddenly appeared in the frame as soon as I pressed the shutter. When I looked up they were both gone. I still can't tell exactly what;s happening here; it looks like the Vulture is coming in for a landing, and is at least a few feet behind the kite. But the treetop is about 60 ft. off the ground, which seems pretty high up for a vulture to be preparing to land!...Hmmm....
