Field Notes

Description:

Blue/black upper parts, white underside. White rump visible in flight. Eats insects it catches on the wing.

Notes:

This is the second brood for this season for this breeding pair. Believe there are 3 young in the nest. They are about to fledge and have been taking test flights. Both parents are still feeding them. We usually have several pairs nesting in the eaves of the house. They remake their nests each year with mud.
