Description:

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the names of insects. I have always just reffered to these and anything that looks like them, 'Dragonflies'. I know that they are Dragonflies, in general, but being that I can't keep myself from photographing them, I figured I should really learn their names and more about them. Any help wuld be appreciated.

Notes:

Seen close to a freshwater marsh.

I would absolutely LOVE to visit India!! But it's such a huge country, I could spend the rest of my life investigating it. You should come to California as well, we have a huge variety of ecosystems here.
Andy if possible do visit India......you will get lot of beautiful and different species to click.
Thanks KartikBhat. Beautiful Photo! It's great that such small and beautiful creatures are living on opposite sides of the world!
After looking at pictures of each, I'd definitely say it's a Ruby Meadowhawk. Thanks masonstothart!
