Field Notes

Description:

low-growing herbaceous plant with cottony fluffy seed heads.

Habitat:

on a rocky cliff at 2,055 elevation

Notes:

I recorded the location on my GPS, but it was out in the middle of "nowhere" near the Kalmiopsis Wilderness on a forest road heading south of the Rogue River about 7 miles. I'd call it closer to Agness than Brookings, but that's what the Google map calls it. I'd not seen such a small coyote brush, but now think that's what it is, though it might be a variety peculiar to that area.
