Description:

Brown moth with highly coloured tops of its under-wings, male and probably the same species as the previous spotting

Notes:

The injuries to its wings may be from a Brown Mantis which has been hunting that group of dead leaves

They were tough to identify and as I said I am uncertain. I did get one of the Gum Tree Snout Moths although I called it a Lappet Moth http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/69136048 funny thing is all three moths were found within hours of one another and at the same place. I had figured there was only one species. I see your point about that Geometrid on your site, headache material for certain
These are crazy. Have a look at 'Gumtree Snout Moth' at Brisbane insects... and also one of my recent ones with pink hind wings. It seems only size separates them.
