Field Notes

Description:

The adult bird has strongly coloured plumage. https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/273166003

This one is a fledgling, so the colours are dull.

Habitat:

My rooftop terrace where I put out grains, fruit and bread crumbs. The parent birds brought three fledglings the first day and since then, one has returned daily for breakfast and dinner.

Notes:

It is lovely to see the new generation...this year I have had spotted doves, babblers, red vented bulbuls and two species of crows and mynahs bringing their babies to my rooftop hotel for birds and civet cats.

Thank you, Tukup. It is really nice and especially since I am not going on my walks or visiting...it is wonderful when 'they' come to visit...with babies in tow. You are lucky...23 species! Wow.
It is fun to see the families come together in the spring. In the few months we have been here I've logged 23 different species outside our window, including 3 very lost parakeets (budgies) :-)
