Description:

The hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), or hippo, is a large, mostly herbivorous mammal in sub-Saharan Africa, and one of only two extant species in the family.

It was quite unusual to see them out of the water during daytime.

Habitat:

Seen during a boat trip up the Nile River towards the Murchison Waterfalls.
