Field Notes

Description:

When I went near this spider to photograph it , it collected ( or ate ?) its whole web (picture 1 & 2) and hid itself on tree leaf by folding its leg .(picture 4 & 5)
And it happened more than one time with same species of spider.

That is a normal behavior with some orb weavers ... some of them eat up their own webs in daytime ..and biuld them again at night . In case of Eriovixia sp. this a normal resting position :) if its web is disturbed it immediately takes up refuge on the nearest leaf in this position !
