Field Notes

Description:

Found this frog, toes of a hylid. Closest match according to the range is either H. versicolor or H. chysoscelis. Brownish in coloration, ventral surface of the legs are yellowed.

Habitat:

In a swamp, adjacent to a white pine forest.

Although we have those in Michigan, they do not come this far north (although this is probably something out of its range). Blanchard's that I have found tend to have 'warty' bumps on their skin and a conspicuous triangle between the eyes (I know that cannot be seen here, but this specimen lacked such hallmarks). Thanks though!
Hard to tell from the photos but it may be Acris crepitans blanchardi?
