Description:

Baboons are African and Arabian Old World monkeys belonging to the genus Papio, part of the subfamily Cercopithecinae.

The olive baboon (Papio anubis), also called the Anubis baboon, is a member of the family Cercopithecidae (Old World monkeys). The species is the most widely ranging of all baboons.

These baboons visited the hotel swimming pool every afternoon to drink water.

Habitat:

It inhabits savannahs, steppes, and forests.
Located on the banks of the nile River in NW Uganda.

They were around while I was there, but quite wary when I was in the pool (at the other end) as the wardens always chased them off. They are quite confident though and not at all above trying to intimidate you.
