Description:

It is a bird of 14-16 cm long with two white bars on the wings and a greenish rump. The male has reddish underparts and a blue-grey cap. The female is drabber and greener.
Very widespread and common throughout Europe.

Habitat:

Generally open woodland but often also gardens and farms.

Notes:

Spanish name: Pinzón vulgar
