Description:

During breeding season the female is sealed into the nesting chamber in the tree with the eggs. She remains there brooding her eggs and hatched young, with only a narrow slit-like opening to the outside through which the male feeds her.

Habitat:

Native to Africa, spotted at the Central Park Zoo.
