Field Notes

Description:

blue bird with rusty breast

Habitat:

woodland edge

Notes:

I had two boxes set up this year, one was used by bluebirds, I found 6 bluebird eggs but so did the neighborhood raccoon and her babies. Apparently the pair found another nesting sight close by because I have been watching three fledglings the last few weeks as they were testing out their wings, discovering the ants hills, and flitting from front, to the side, to the back yard every day now.
