Field Notes

Description:

Smaller moth. Dark brownish-black with large white spots and patches. Pale legs and underside. White stripes on abdomen. Day flying moth.
Desmia funeralis or Desmia maculalis. I don't have a size reference at this time to determine species.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.
