Hi Alex, I have found a couple of pictures showing some deformed D. quercina. Maybe it is of any use. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sjog/4932725912/ http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?enlarge=0000+0000+0807+1673
this is still a mystery for me, actually i wanted to go into the forest where i found this one, again, the next time.- i will go look if he has changed. The deformed deadalea is a possibility!!
I dont think it's the Sparassis, because the Sparassis doesn't grow this slow and it has a much more soft fleshy fruitbody. Shown here is in my opinion a deformation of Deadalea quercina, Oak Maze Gill (Doolhofzwam).
i forgot to meantion: i have uploaded a new picture: the last one (6 picture) are from 03.12.2011, (the spotting from september- therefore it's almost 3 month between the pictures)
hi gina9210, i also where thinking at sparassis, but my spotting don't wanted to develope to this guess. actually it has almost not developed. it stayed the way it was 3 month ago. i think it could be a mutated brasket, then the underside/gills/pores/maze of it. really weird, haven't seen anything which let me build any theory for it !! that means : further waiting/looking and hoping to stumple over some good ideas. but thanks for you comment.
@ marta. hope you dont mind i borrowed somewhat your common name. this is my brain-shaped spotting, till now i have no idea, what direction to research: jeah- sure fungi, maybe- ascomyceten, but further--> no idea. !!! help someone ??
