Field Notes

Description:

The homing pigeon is a variety of domestic pigeon derived from the Rock Pigeon (Columba livia domestica) selectively bred to find its way home over extremely long distances.

Habitat:

At our home

Notes:

I found Henry, that's what i called him, one day i was driving home from work.
He was laying weak beside the street at a bus stop and it was forseeable that the next bus would kill him. So i stopped and catched him. He was very exhausted and so i took him to the vet. She gave him some injections to strengthen him and some food. We held him in a cage for a week, while i searched for his owner and gladly found him. After this week he was healed from his exhaustion and i drove him back to his owner, who lives 61 km away.
