A few herbalists I know use plantain leaves as a natural band-aid for insect bites and minor skin wounds. The narrow leaf variety, Plantago lanceolata, is the host plant for the Common Buckeye butterfly. A great, broad leaf lawn plant this is frequently killed by broad leaf weed killers used as lawn treatments.
