Description:

The little bat is seen in flight over the canal, just below the red pavement, on the left side of this image. It was skimming the surface of the water and flew very near people seated on the steps leading down to the water.

Notes:

The source of the water in this canal is a spring, around which Huntsville, Alabama was settled. There's a footbridge over the canal, and I think the bat may have rested under it during the day.
