Field Notes

Description:

Small fungal towers with a single or multiple clumpy red tops. Usually seen in a colony.

Habitat:

Anywhere moist, it seems. Rotten logs, forest floor...
All over the Adirondack State Park. Found this colony in the Old Forge area, Middle Branch Lake, Ha-De-Ron-Dah wilderness area where we were camping.
