Habitat:

Byssonectria terrestris- bysso means filaments, nectria means joined and terrestris means ground. This sac lichen grows in spring usually while the ground is wet from snowmelt. It is commonly associated with moose dung and urine. Each cup is quite small- less than 5mm as photographed here. They cups are the fruiting buds of a gelatinous materials that grows on flattened wet leaf litter.
