Might be Aristolochia Gibertii. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Aristolochia_gibertii.jpg
ceherzog is right. It's a vine. I have one in my backyard too. Climbs on trees. And it's a flower.
We have one of these growing in our yard and my husband calls it a pipevine, I don't know if that is a common name or just what he calls it. It is beautiful when there are many of them in bloom at once.
My first thought was some sort of pitcher plant like these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepenthes.
