Field Notes

Description:

Large speckled bird with ruby eyes and long tail. Rather bedraggled as it has been raining heavily...the monsoons are here!

Habitat:

On an electric line keeping an eye out for the food I put out. It has been particularly bad for the birds this past week as there has been an ongoing deluge...we are flooded. the birds have very little access to food so I am putting out extra and they know it.

Notes:

This bird is aggressive and does not feed socially with other birds.

Thanks Neil...Watching the birds makes me happy...they take so little.
Nice spotting, Sukanya. Love the notes, and it makes me happy knowing you're taking care of the local wildlife during this harsh time. Koels don't seem to get on with other birds period! I see their Aussie cousins from time to time.
