Description:
Nectaring on Platanthera dilatata
Notes:
Life History: Univoltine. Flying mostly in May and early June. Pupae overwinter.
Caterpillar Hosts: Leather-leaf (Chamaedaphne calyculata), bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), blueberry (Vaccinium myrtilloides).
Habitat: Sphagnum bogs, heath and moorlike habitats in the east; montane shrub barrens in west; wherever food plants grow.
Range: Alaska to Newfoundland south to Colorado and New Jersey.
