Field Notes

Description:

This is a small cormorant.It is mainly glossy black in the breeding season, with white head plumes and a whitish throat. The wing coverts are silvery, and it has a longish tail.The Little Cormorant can dive to considerable depths, but usually feeds in shallow water. It frequently brings prey to the surface.

Habitat:

This is a common and widespread bird species found in freshwater wetlands and on coasts.

Actually all the ghats are equally important. Protection is required for all organisms.
Western ghats is one most important Bio Diversity Hot spot... Need lots of protection for its web of Life members...!!
