Field Notes

Description:

At first I thought this was a ladybug but when I looked closer it had a segmented carapace similar to a pill bug. I found it in my garden near my zucchini plants growing on a weed. Even though the coloring looks like a ladybug it even has black dots. It does not seem to have wings.

Habitat:

In my vegetable garden near the desert.
