Weigela florida 'White Knight'
38.4108, -82.4306
Field Notes
Description:
A deciduous, densely rounded shrub growing to 5' tall which is primarily grown for its profuse, late spring flowering. Bloom occurs singly or in clusters all along the branches of the previous year's growth, frequently covering the entire shrub with funnel-shaped, pure white flowers in May-June, with a less showy repeat bloom usually occurring in late summer. Among weigelas, the flower of this cultivar is unique as it is both fragrant and pure white. When not in flower, this shrub tends to look rather ordinary.
Habitat:
In the landscape of the parking lot where I work in town.
