Can anyone help to identify this beautiful bug? Yesterday was a cool day. I saw this bug near a stream in the woods.

Actually, I think this is a giant shield bug nymph, family Tessaratomidae. They mostly occur in the old world, so I don't know too much about them. Wikipedia has more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tessaratomidae
It's the nymph of a sheild bug, aka stink bug. I'm not sure which species.
