Okay, I do see what you mean there, but I'm still thinking it's probably the more commonly found A. luna. As Karen has said, A. selene might not even occur that far north.
I agree with KarenL, I think this is A. luna. It doesn't appear to have the distinct lateral line on it's wings or the pink coloration in the tails I see in images of A. selene. The current season is Autumn in Canada now but this was spotted in July.
I admit they do look very similar but I'm thinking that selene is mainly found in the tropics & occasionally in the Southern states of the US - not sure if it would survive as far north as Canada?
