Description:

A small stocky shorebird with a long straight bill. Molted brown above and pale underneath. Year-round residence on the U.S. Pacific coast.

Habitat:

Spotted foraging in a flooded field at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.

An odd-looking bird, but in a beautiful way, and I particularly like how the head stripes flow into the bill ! I always enjoy watching shorebirds forage. Thanks for sharing, Brian.
