Field Notes

Description:

No more that 10 cms long, traslucent white body and no eyes.

Habitat:

Underground rivers and caves (cenotes) in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Notes:

Endemic. Since is threatened, local guides do not allow to swim in this caves. If you're not lucky and you did not find the ogilbia pearsei then you might see snakes trying to catch a bat for dinner.
