Field Notes

Description:

This is my first Monarch Butterfly spotting for Project Noah! I have seen many of them this year and have chased them for a photo unsuccessfully. The Monarch was enjoying the purple lantana blossoms (lantana montevidensis) in a shopping center in Pleasant Hill, CA. It flew around the plant for a very long time and allowed me to admire its beauty.

Habitat:

Suburban shopping center landscaping, Pleasant Hill, CA.
