Lone Star tick (Male)

Amblyomma americanum

Comments (1)

This is actually a male Lone Star tick, not a deer tick. Deer ticks do not have festoons on the edge of their abdomen, which this tick has. Also, while male Lone Star ticks do not have the characteristic white dot on their scutum, they do have white streaks on their festoons (as you can see clearly on your tick).
