Field Notes
Description:
Fairly small, a little less than a foot wide dark gray/green shell.
Habitat:
Fresh water lakes, ponds, and rivers given there are adequate hiding areas and nearby nesting sites.
Notes:
Nesting in mulch pile in field across the trail from a lake. An eastern painted turtle was also nesting on the other side of the pile.
