Description:

This is a pair of baby Hoary Marmots - the largest ground squirrel. Hoary refers to the silver-gray fur on their shoulders and upper back; the remainder of the upper parts are mainly covered in reddish brown fur. The underparts are grayish. They have a white patch on the muzzle and black feet and lower legs.

Habitat:

These hoary marmots were sited behind Mt Robson on snowbird pass. They were living near the tree line and like to dig holes around the rocks and trees.
