Description:

Amazing fellow. Kept still while I was clicking. I have no idea how he was able to get a black and white patch in between the colourful body. No idea what it is called. Saw it in my garden.

I agree with sandra it looks like an oriental changeable lizard, I have the male species in my pictures and it looks very similar to this one.
could be a female oriental garden lizard? see the markings on the second photo from the top on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oriental_garden_lizard
wonderful little guy. It is definitely some agama or other :) (I know that's too broad but it is a start :)))
Thanks for the trouble Zack. I appreciate it.
Oh, I didn't see where you had seen it, Nevermind, I'm not sure what it is. sorry
I see these lizards all the time, It appears to be an Eastern Fence Lizard
Thanks Atul sir, I was in fact motivated after seeing your pics and luckily enough this guy showed up in my garden after I came back.
great info satyen as i said i too have a similar spotting with similar colors i was wondering why the patches thanks to Lori for the info great spotting
Thanks for the information Lori, I never had any idea that the lighter patch could be unshed skin. That is amazing. Thanks again.
I don't know what it's called, but that lighter patch is unshed skin. Reptiles tend to shed unevenly, with some dead skin patches persisting for weeks after the rest has fallen off. It tends to make them cranky. I used to help my pet iguana with the bits around his vent, ears, and down into his nostrils. Those were the places he seemed unable to get at on his own.
