Looks somewhat like a cocklebur (Xanthium sp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocklebur ) and http://stevecreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/cuca_burr-0003.jpg but hard to say for sure...
We appreciate your understanding. Your frost photos are universally regarded as beautiful I would imagine. By shifting emphasis to the plant, this photograph fits Project Noah's focus on wildlife. Thank you :-)
I posted this photo, and others of the beautiful hoar frost I photographed that winter morning on our farm in Kentucky. I got polite messages from others telling me I should only post the photos under the category of the plant or animal pictured with the frost. So, I deleted them, except the original seed pod, which remains unidentified.
